Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. She was moved to Oxfordshire in the year she turned five where she attended at the Dragon School. Emma was just six when she realized she wanted to pursue a career as an actress. She studied for a number of years in Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a full-time school of theatre in Oxford in which she learned acting as well as singing. At the age of ten the actress took part in and performed the main role in a number of Stagecoach Productions and School Plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the film adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book was cast in the year 1999. Emma was identified by casting agents through Emma's Oxford theatre teacher. After eight auditions consistently, producer David Heyman told Emma and other applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been cast as the three lead characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's first screen appearance came with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone's debut in 2001. The film was also the film that was most popular during 2001. The opening days and weekends of ticket sales were record-breaking. Reviewers have been highly lauding the film, as well as the performance by three main young actors. The Daily Telegraph in Britain, which is widely distributed, called her performance commendable. Emma's performance was nominated and won five awards later for the movie.
